Sevagram is a registered charitable institution established on 4th October, 1989 under the Indian Trust Act of 1882 for the cause of orphans, the terminally ill and for the senior citizens.
It owes its origin to the contribution of Late Mathew J Kollamparambil who donated 23 acres of his land to the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), Rajagiri, Kalamassery. It is situated at Pothy, near Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam District.
Children’s village has been set up on lines of that of SOS model, consisting of five homes it cares for about 50 orphan children.Each home is placed under the care
Avedana Bhavan means a ‘painless home’. It is a hospice for terminally ill cancer patients and other terminally ill patients who are from the poorest background.
